Notice on the Current Visa Application Procedures (Updated on August 25)

Effective from today, acceptable visa to China for applicants in the Commonwealth of Dominica will be processed as follows:


1. Acceptable visa categories and required documents:

(1)Basic documents:

a. Original passport with at least six months of remaining validity and blank visa pages.

b. Truthfully completed and signed visa application form and the confirmation page. (see Part 2)

c. One recently-taken color passport photo (bare-head, full face) against a light background, in 48mm x 33mm size.

d. For applicants from third countries, a certificate of lawful stay and residence permit in Dominica is required.

e. For first-time applicants whose former nationality was Chinese, or who were born in China (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan), the original Chinese passport is required.

f. Foreign citizens who were born in China and had obtained a Chinese visa before, when applying for visa with a new passport, shall submit a photocopy of the original passport's information page and the page containing the previous Chinese visa.

a.Please be informed that applications for visa types other than the above mentioned are not accepted at the current stage.

b.For application of emergency humanitarian visa not specified in the above form, such as attending a funeral of an immediate family member or visiting an immediate family member in critical condition, certification of relationship, proof of identity and a Death Certificate or a certificate of diagnosis/critical illness notice issued by a hospital should be submitted.

c.For diplomatic/official visas, please contact the Chinese Embassy directly.

d.All content of the visa application form must be filled in truthfully, clearly and completely. Any inaccuracy or omission may cause delay in visa approval or even refusal of visa. (See Part 2)

e.If necessary, the applicant shall provide other materials.


2.Application process

(1)Send an email to consulate_dm@mfa.gov.cn for pre-application. The E-mail shall state the type of visa to be applied for, the applicant's name, passport number, phone number, reason and time of going to China, and attached with corresponding application materials in PDF or JPG format.

(2)After receiving confirmation email from the Embassy, fill in the online application form on the website of China Online Visa Application (COVA) (https://cova.mfa.gov.cn) and make an appointment to go through formalities in the Embassy. Please remember to download and print the online confirmation page and visa application form. After that please inform the Embassy by email or phone.

(3)Applicants should come to the Embassy and submit materials needed in person and go through the process of fingerprints collection. Persons under 14 years old or over 70 years old, persons holding diplomatic passports or meeting the conditions for issuing diplomatic/official visas, persons whose fingers are incomplete or whose fingerprints cannot be retained may be exempted from recording fingerprints.


3.Tips

(1)Except for children and those who cannot be vaccinated due to diseases and other reasons, the applicant shall, in principle, receive full COVID-19 vaccines approved by China or the World Health Organization for emergency use or marketing, and provide the certificate of full vaccination.

(2)Applicants should wear facial masks in the Embassy.

(3)Those who have been issued a visa to China are still required to apply for the Health Code following the instruction of the Embassy before travel to China.
