Chinese Ambassador Lu Kun Meets with Dominican Foreign Minister Darroux

On June 16, H.E. Lu Kun, Chinese Ambassador to Dominica met with Hon. Kenneth Darroux, Dominican Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Business and Diaspora Relations at the Chinese Embassy. Hon. Edward Registe, Minister of State in the Foreign Ministry and Mrs. Barbara Dailey, Permanent Secretary of the Foreign Ministry of Dominica were also present.

Foreign Minister Darroux extended his congratulations on China's success in containing COVID-19 and expressed his thanks to the Chinese government and the Chinese embassy for their support and assistance to Dominica in the fight against the virus. The Dominican government will continue to adhere to the one China principle and enhance all areas of cooperation with China.

Ambassador Lu said China and Dominica are good friends and partners, who have strengthened their friendship by supporting each other in this fight against the virus. China commends Dominica for its unwavering adherence to the one China principle, appreciates the Dominican government's support for China in international affairs and stands ready to continue to conduct public health cooperation with Dominica.

The two sides also exchanged views on the progress of China-aided projects and consular cooperation between China and Dominica.
