On March 13, 2024, the Chinese Embassy in Dominica and the Government of Dominica co-hosted a reception celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The reception, attended by Chinese Ambassador H.E. Lin Xianjiang and all members of the Embassy, welcomed nearly 300 distinguished guests, including H.E. Sylvanie Burton, President of Dominica and Mr. Burton, Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit, Prime Minister of Dominica and Mrs. Skerrit, Hon. Vince Henderson, Foreign Minister of Dominica and Mrs. Henderson, other cabinet ministers, diplomatic envoys, representatives from various sectors, journalists, delegates from Chinese companies and institutions, and the Chinese community in Dominica.

In his remarks, Chinese Ambassador Lin underscored the remarkable achievements witnessed in bilateral relations, practical cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges between China and Dominica over the past two decades. He emphasized that the two nations should further consolidate the consensus reached by the leaders of both sides, devote in the construction of a China-Dominica community with a Shared Future, and advance the enduring friendship between the two peoples for mutual benefits.

Prime Minister Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit, in his remarks, appreciated the significance of the Dominica-China relations and emphasized the precious friendship with China and the adherence to the One China Principle. He mentioned that Dominica is willing to deepen cooperation with China to bring bilateral relations to new heights and foster prosperity, peace and progress.
