Chargé d'Affaires Luo Songtao Meets with Dominican Foreign Minister Darroux and Health Minister McIntyre

On February 3, Mr Luo Songtao, Chargé d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Dominica met with Dr. Hon. Kenneth Darroux, Dominican Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Business and Diaspora Relations and Hon. Dr. Irving McIntyre, Dominican Minister of Health, Wellness and New Health Investment. They exchanged views on the response to the pneumonia epidemic caused by the novel coronavirus.

Mr. Luo briefed the epidemic situation in China and the efforts made by the Chinese government to combat the virus. Luo said that since the outbreak, the Chinese government has taken the most comprehensive and rigorous prevention and control measures with a strong sense of responsibility for people's health. We have full confidence and capability to win the battle against the outbreak. Meanwhile, China has actively carried out international cooperation with openness, transparency and in a responsible manner, which are fully recognized and highly commended by the WHO and the international community.

Minister Darroux said that China is a great country which has experienced many challenges in history. He believes that China is bound to overcome this epidemic. He said that the Dominican government and people are always standing firmly with the Chinese government and people.

Minister McIntyre said that Dominica firmly supports China's fight against the epidemic and the Dominican health departments will strengthen communication and cooperation with the Chinese embassy to work together to respond to the epidemic.
