Chargé d'Affaires Luo Songtao Calls Upon Dominican President Savarin

On February 11, 2020, Mr. Luo Songtao, Charge d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Dominica called upon H.E. Charles Savarin, President of the Commonwealth of Dominica. They exchanged views on the response to the pneumonia epidemic caused by the novel coronavirus.

Mr. Luo briefed the latest epidemic situation in China. He said that China is making all-out efforts to fight against the epidemic and has taken the most comprehensive and rigorous measures to contain the outbreak, which is producing good results. He said that China has full confidence and capability to win the battle against the outbreak. Meanwhile, as a responsible country, China has shared relevant information and technology to the world in an open and transparent manner to response to the concerns of other countries and actively carried out international cooperation, which are fully recognized by the international community. Luo also thanked President Savarin for his commendation to the efforts made by the Chinese side during his Parliament address. 

President Savarin thanked Luo for the briefing, expressed condolence again to the Chinese side with regard to the outbreak and highly appreciated China's decisive measures to contain the outbreak. He stressed that Dominica firmly supports China and believes that the Chinese government and people are fully capable of overcoming the epidemic as soon as possible under the leadership of President Xi Jinping. Savarin also said that Dominica will continue to deepen the friendship and cooperation with China on the basis of one-China principle.
