Ambassador Lu Kun Meets with UNDP Representative Soliman

On November 11, 2019, H.E. Lu Kun, Chinese Ambassador to Dominica met with Mr. Soliman, Representative of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Caribbean at the Chinese Embassy in Dominica. They exchanged views on the cooperation between China and UNDP.  

Soliman briefed the cooperation between UNDP and Caribbean countries as well as the cooperation between UNDP and the Chinese government in the past 40 years, thanked the Chinese government for its strong support for UNDP and highly appreciated the great achievements made by the Chinese government in the field of poverty reduction. He expects that the two sides would continue to work closely in Dominica to help its economic and social development.

Ambassador Lu welcomed Soliman to the Chinese Embassy, appreciated UNDP's positive role in the development of Caribbean countries, and briefed the cooperation between China and Dominica in the past 15 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations. Ambassador Lu said that after hurricane Maria in Dominica, the Chinese government and UNDP worked closely to implement the roof restoration project in Dominica, which had achieved remarkable results and won wide praise. Ambassador Lu said he is willing to maintain communication and cooperation with UNDP to benefit more Dominicans.
