Chargé d'Affaires Luo Songtao Meets with Dominican Prime Minister Skerrit

On February 16, Mr. Luo Songtao, Charge d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Dominica met with Honorable Roosevelt Skerrit, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, who once again expressed his condolence and support to China on the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic.

Prime Minister Skerrit said that since the outbreak of the epidemic, China has taken resolute measures to effectively contain the disease, demonstrating the strong leadership of Chinese leaders. Dominica and China are true friends who will walk through difficult times together. The Dominican government and and people will as always stand firmly with the Chinese government and people and provide whatever assistance they can to help China win this battle against the epidemic.

Mr. Luo thanked Prime Minister for coming to the Embassy to express support for China in the fight against the virus on behalf of Dominican government and people. In particular, Prime Minister's support to China by means of writing to Chinese leaders, issuing public statements in Parliament and declaring the donation of medical supplies, spoke volumes about the deep bonds and friendship between China and Dominica. Since the outbreak of the epidemic, under the leadership of Chinese President Xi Jinping, China has had in place a nationwide mechanism with the most comprehensive and rigorous measures to curb the spread of the disease. Positive results have been achieved so far. China has full confidence and capability to prevail over the epidemic.
 
The two sides also exchanged views on China-Dominica relations as well as regional and international issues.
