On September 29, H.E. Lu Kun, Chinese Ambassador to Dominica paid a visit to H.E. President Charles Savarin, extending birthday greetings from H.E. President Xi Jinping, and presented birthday gifts on behalf of the embassy.

President Savarin thanked President Xi Jinping for the birthday greetings, saying since its founding 71 years ago, the People's Republic of China has made phenomenal achievements, becoming the second largest economy in the world. Since the beginning of this year, China, despite the twin challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and frequent natural disasters, has maintained its growth momentum, fully displaying the excellent leadership of Chinese leaders. Dominica will continue to hold on to the one China policy and push bilateral relations to new heights.

Ambassador Lu thanked the President for his firm support in the development of China-Dominica relations, stressing that Dominica is a true friend and cooperative partner of China in the Caribbean region. During the pandemic, China and Dominica supported each other against the challenges, making China-Dominica friendship even stronger. Down the road, the two countries will move forward with their cooperation in health, infrastructure, agriculture and education, contributing to a lasting China-Dominica relations.
