On 13 December, the Chinese Embassy in Dominica hosted the 2025 Consular Protection Lecture. H.E. Chu Maoming, Chinese Ambassador to Dominica attended the event. Hon. Rayburn Blackmoore, Minister for National Security and Legal Affairs, and Mr. Alleyne Maximea, Assistant Commissioner of Police were present and delivered briefings on the local security situation, emergency response procedures, and personal safety skills. About 40 representatives from the Chinese community, enterprises and institutions in Dominica participated.

Ambassador Chu noted that consular protection is an important component of China’s diplomacy. Over the years, the Embassy has upheld the principle of people-centered diplomacy and steadily advanced consular protection work. Going forward, the Embassy will continue to deepen cooperation with Dominica’s Ministry of National Security, the Police Force, and other relevant authorities to further safeguard the security of Chinese nationals in Dominica.

Minister Blackmoore and ACP Maximea drawing on cracked cases, introduced practical personal safety tips, guiding participants to enhance security awareness in daily life, properly safeguard property, maintain security facilities, remain calm in emergencies, and report incidents promptly to the police. Minister Blackmoore also expressed the Dominican government’s appreciation for the contributions made by Chinese citizens and reaffirmed its commitment to continuing efforts to ensure their safety.
